Violence begins
☒☒☒☒☒☒☒☒ and sibling group witness violence against another child in their neighborhood. He reconsiders his concept of reality and his place in the world. Aged 8 years.
The Heist
☒☒☒☒☒☒☒☒ and gang stage their first burglary. The heist is successful, but the victim is killed by ☒☒☒☒☒☒☒☒ during their escape. Aged 11 years.
Gang formally established
After several more major heists and payoffs, ☒☒☒☒☒☒☒☒ and siblings officially form their gang and tattoo each other to commemorate the occasion. They continue to work out of the hotel, often collaborating with prostitutes and conmen. Aged 14 years.
The Vagrancy Act 1824
Vagrancy, including prostitution, is outlawed in the U.K. The hotel is raided and prostitutes and other tenants are arrested. ☒☒☒☒☒☒☒☒ and gang evade the police but now have nowhere to live or conduct business.
☒☒☒☒☒☒☒☒ hits his head on the edge of a brick wall during escape, sustaining his first major concussion. Aged 17 years.
Ongoing criminal activity, bodily harm
Displaced but not discouraged, the gang continues operating in the streets of London. Their numbers and expertise grow.
☒☒☒☒☒☒☒☒ is caught stealing tools from a smithy; his arm is branded and his left pinky finger removed, but the law is not involved. Aged 18 years.
Mob territory established
☒☒☒☒☒☒☒☒ and gang -- now a proper mob in size and action -- purchase the hotel they were born in and reopen it as lawful-on-paper apartments. Many prostitutes, gamblers, and other unsavories displaced or imprisoned during the 1824 raid return and begin working again under mob protection. Aged 22 years.
The garroting incident
☒☒☒☒☒☒☒☒ hired for an assassination; on questionable advice of a friend, he tries using a poorly made garrote. While he succeeds in killing his target, his hands are badly sliced and permanently scarred. Aged 27 years.
Fire & Arrest
A heist gone horribly wrong leads ☒☒☒☒☒☒☒☒ to commit triple homicide. During the struggle a fire is started and while most escape, he is trapped beneath a collapsed beam.
His hands are burned beyond recognition and he passes out, awakening later to learn he has been arrested and charged with murder and arson. He has also sustained his third major concussion. Aged 35 years.
Conviction
His crimes should have been punished by death but after several false starts and the mysterious death of the victims's remaining family, the messy case is brushed under the rug. After more than a year in prison, ☒☒☒☒☒☒☒☒ is hastily boarded on a transport ship destined for the Australian penal colonies.

☒☒☒☒☒☒☒☒ does not arrive in Australia as planned, and is instead returned to the U.K. under care of ☒☒☒☒☒☒☒ ☒☒☒☒☒☒☒☒.

Amity is added to the H.M.S. Polaris roster as armourer and blacksmith. He is received as a very normal man without any obvious scarring. Aged 39 years.
